Active research and technology development projects across Arizona’s three public universities, organized by focus area.

Funding

Two ways to apply.

Both tracks fund up to $80,000 over 12 months, with roughly six awards per cycle across the two tracks. Awards go to teams pursuing problems the Arizona ag industry has actually flagged.

01 · ARP

Applied Research Program

Funds focused research that advances a specific industry-defined problem from open question to validated approach.

Best forFaculty leading multi-disciplinary teams with a clear research question and a path toward field testing.

02 · AIL

Ag Innovation Lab

Funds applied technology development paired with The Shop makerspace at the Yuma Ag Center for prototyping and field deployment.

Best forEngineers, technologists, and student teams building tools that can be in growers' hands within 12 months.

Funding Update: Round 1 Closed: Applications for Round 1 of the Applied Research Program and the Ag Innovation Lab are now closed. What’s next? Selected projects will be announced here on October 15.
